Sugar addiction is like drug addiction. Because taking drugs increases dopamine transmission in the brain, and dopamine makes us feel happy. So binge eating on certain foods affects your brain in a similar way.
Because our taste buds love sugar, salt, and fat; eating these foods stimulates dopamine production. So your brain will associate eating junk food as a way to relieve anxiety and stress. Mental health professionals call this emotional eating or compulsive eating, and both are risk factors for obesity.
But kicking a food addiction can be difficult. Because your body and mind depends on it. So cutting sugar requires a metered approach and strong support system. And working with a health coach is a great start!
“Great program to jump start to becoming a healthier person. Very informative and useful information to help obtain and maintain not only weight loss but feeling overall more healthy. Kathy is a great coach and is always there for you to not only answer question but to keep you inspired.”

So how do you stop sugar cravings?
Don’t go cold turkey! Because quitting sugar outright may cause sugar withdrawal. Food withdrawals occur as your body detoxes from consuming harmful foods. If you stop sugar cold, you’ll get headaches and feel sick. And this makes you more likely to binge on bad food in order to feel better.
So curing sugar addiction takes time. I suggest that you wean yourself off of sugary foods. Eat less and less each day. Because the less sugar you consume, the less you’ll crave it. And drink more water! It crushes cravings.
Time to kick sugar addiction.
Ending sugar addiction requires more than just switching to black coffee. So I’ll teach you how to read food labels. Because many packaged foods contain a lot of sugar! So do more home cooking, and experiment with spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. Because both are great for satisfying a rogue sweet tooth.
So let’s talk. I’ll show you the tricks of the trade!
